Job Description
Job Title : Manufacturing Supervisor (Harrisburg, PA, US, 17103)

Job Summary

Directly oversees 2nd shift production operations at the Dayton Parts Manufacturing Plant, leading a team of manufacturing employees to meet and exceed safety, quality, and production targets. Responsible for coordinating workflow, maintaining high operational standards, and ensuring timely delivery of heavy-duty truck components. Acts as a hands-on leader focused on driving continuous improvement, fostering teamwork, and supporting company-wide performance goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Primary Duties

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in shearing, punching, forging, tempering, heating, peening, assembling and painting of leaf springs for automotive industry.
  • Scheduling of employees for daily production as determined by production schedulers.
  • Trains new workers in job duties.
  • Trains all workers in safe operation of equipment.
  • Inspects work in progress and finished product.
  • Keeps a record of employee attendance, disciplinary issues and general employee information.  Updates records as needed.
  • Assists workers with minor maintenance repairs.
  • Attends company and departmental meetings as scheduled.
  • Reviews production schedules and estimates work requirements for job completion.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety/OSHA regulations.
  • Completes supervisory reports for work related accidents.
  • Analyzes and resolves work/employee problems.
  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Completes daily paperwork as assigned.
  • Prepares annual employee performance reviews.
  • Responsible for general plant housekeeping.
  • Performs security function as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret graphs. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
