Job Description:

Pay: $115k per year
Location: Douglassville, PA
 

Position:

The Production Manager will be responsible for daily leadership of the workforce, driving productivity, cost control, process improvements, safety, and employee development in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This leadership role will also contribute to annual budget development and capital improvement projects, supporting the company's goals to meet or exceed OEE KPIs.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly lead and manage all production shifts.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of plant production equipment to minimize lost production time. This includes maintaining adequate spare parts inventory.
  • Oversee production planning, staffing, and day-to-day operations to maximize cost-efficiency and productivity.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs to identify operational improvements, reduce downtime, and optimize product quality.
  • Maintain accurate production records, man hours & material consumption through ERP system.
  • Manage raw material inventory levels and inbound logistics ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained to support 24/7 production needs.
  • Lead or support capital improvement initiatives, including project design, budgeting, purchasing, installation, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Logistics, Yard, Production Planning, QA, HR, and Finance teams to achieve company financial goals.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop production employees, ensuring effective succession planning and high retention rates.
  • Motivate employees through empowerment and autonomous work practices, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Spend approximately 80% of the time on the factory floor
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and lean manufacturing.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.  Lead and Ensure compliance with all OSHA programs.  Lead Safety Committee program and factory safety training.
  • Adjust the equipment and raw materials to improve quality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or a related discipline preferred plus 5+ years in industrial operations management (concrete block & paver experience preferred).
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as needed to fully support a 24/7 operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cultural change and drive operational excellence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience in precision alignment and maintenance of automated machinery.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot industrial hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
  • Implementing lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement programs.
