Job Description
Job Title : Core STA Engineer
  • Assess supplier manufacturing processes for compliance with internal requirements, industry standards, and specifically the FEMR standard.
  • Conduct comprehensive supplier audits (process, quality, technical) with a strong focus on electronics manufacturing processes (e.g., SMT, soldering, testing, assembly).
  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement robust process controls, quality assurance measures, and preventative actions.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventative actions for complex supplier quality issues related to electronic components and assemblies.
  • Approve supplier process changes, new product introductions, and manufacturing locations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers to improve process capability, yield, and overall quality performance.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams including Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
  • Monitor and report on key supplier performance metrics and lead initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with relevant quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949 if applicable to your industry).
  • Travel to supplier sites as required to conduct audits, support issue resolution, and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • roven experience in a Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), or similar technical role focused on supplier development and quality.
  • Strong technical background and practical experience in electronics manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, component knowledge, and associated quality control methods.
  • Demonstrated experience with and in-depth knowledge of manufacturing standards, specifically FEMR. (Please specify if FEMR is a standard like ISO, industry-specific, or internal).
  • Experience conducting supplier audits (process and/or system audits).
  • Proficiency in applying quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
