Job Title : Engineering Specialist Tooling

Responsibilities

In this position...

The open position is for a tooling engineer within the gear machining team. A tooling engineer that specializes in inventory management, order tracking, tool testing, CAD drawing management, and cost analysis. They ensure tooling supports precision, efficiency, and quality in gear manufacturing processes. This role requires close collaboration with suppliers, engineering, and production teams to troubleshoot issues, enhance tooling performance, and drive continuous improvements. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential for success in this position.

 

Types of process used within Gear Manufacturing:

Skiving, hobbing, broaching, grinding, turning, welding, polishing, honing, drilling, etc.

 

What you'll do...

· Tooling inventory management

· Project management

· Order tracking

· Tool test planning

· Tooling cost analysis

· CAD drawing management

· Tooling vendor relationships

· Production and engineering collaboration

Qualifications

You'll have...

· High School Diploma or GED

· 1 or more years of experience in engineering/plant mfg. experience

 

Even better, you may have...

· Bachelors Degree

· Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.

· Collaborative mindset and team building attitude.

· Experience with various machining processes such as broaching, hobbing, grinding, honing, turning, polishing and automation.

· Effective oral and written communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams.

· Experience with project management.

· Experience with suppliers and inventory systems.

· Experience with cost analysis.

· Experience with microsoft office.

· Experience with 3D printing capabilities.
