Job Description
Job Title : VIS Manufacturing Supervisor

This position is for a VE VIS supervisor.  The position oversees Glass cell and fluid fill tooling supervisors.  Experience in tooling development and vision systems required.  The responsibilities include ensuring all suppliers meet program timing, all tooling development milestones are met and the supplier is 100% GVOSS compliant.    There will be multiple suppliers and multiple programs at play at once.  Candidate must have strong multi-tasking skills. 

Candidate must be driven to hold suppliers and colleagues accountable to aggressive program timing and drive suppliers to higher efficiencies to reduce tooling development time.

The candidate for this position must have at least 5 years of tooling and cycle line layout development experience.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Manage 4-6 Suppliers to the following requirements:
    • Compliance to GVOSS
    • Compliance to safety, Ergo requirements
    • Compliance to Time line milestones (kick off, 50% design, 100% design, controls buy off, Tooling buy off) to schedule
    • Understanding part to part variations in respect to how it affects the quality and FTT of the tool
    • 6 sigma capability
    • Low-cost solutions
  • Interface with upper management during tool buy offs and or status presentations
  • Manage FTF specifications
  • Interface with MPT teams 
  • Manage a clear line of responsibilities between MPT and Cradle to grave owners
  • Understand and improve GVOSS when opportunity arrive.
  • Ability to multitask, handing many projects at once

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical)
  • Knowledge of tooling development (5 years minimum)
  • Knowledge of vision systems
  • Basic understanding of GVOSS
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Understanding of General part Tolerancing principles
  • Ability to hold Vendors accountable
  • Understanding of Program development timelines
  • Ability to interface with many different ford groups (MPT, Facilities, Conveyors, NMP, Suppliers, Ergo, Safety)
  • Understanding of 6 sigma
