Job Description
Job Title : Quality Control Field Technician - Aggregate & Asphalt
Overview:

Join the Sunroc team as a Gravel & Asphalt Quality Control Field Technician, ensuring top-tier material quality for operations and customers. In this role, you'll oversee sampling, testing, mix design, and technical training while providing expert guidance on specifications, plant inspections, and job site quality control. 

 

Things You will Do  

  • Assist in implementation of sand, gravel & asphalt sampling for quality control purposes. 
  • Provide in-house testing of sand, gravel & asphalt for operations and customers 
  • Assist in research and development of new products. 
  • Provide technical training for sand, gravel & asphalt to employees and customers. 
  • Review and interpret sand, gravel & asphalt specifications. 
  • Provide data entry and review of statistical information for future decision analysis. 
  • Assist in customer service through job site visits, office visits, and pre-construction meetings. 
  • Advise Area Manager of any quality control situations outside of scope of ability. 
  • Perform plant inspections and quality control procedures.  
  • Provide advice on asphalt mix designs on projects 
  • Responsible to assist with design and implementation of asphalt mixes. 
  • Update sand, gravel & asphalt technical library and quality control manuals. 
  • Accumulate data that will provide statistical information for future decision analysis. 
  • Make job site decisions concerning mix designs, production and quality control in the field.  

 

Requirements  

  • At least 10 years of experience in the quality control/quality analysis in construction industry.  
  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills 
  • Ability to review and analyze information 
  • Strategic thinking skills 
  • Ability to maintain agreeable relationships with vendors, employees, and customers. 
  • Able to lift 50 lb samples
