Shaw Industries is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor to serve the Finishing Department 2nd shift by continually monitoring the appropriate shift operations and ensuring compliance with all company, plant and departmental guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities
Act as liaison between Department Manager and employees by providing an effective line of communication within the department.
Supervise Coater and OLS lines as needed.
Monitor all departmental production, production quality, processes and procedures and ensure that departmental SMS procedures and instructions are continually followed by all employees
Use CIM Line-up Manager to assign production.
Ensure that department machinery and equipment is well maintained and repaired as needed.
Complete the appropriate paperwork needed to effectively monitor and record departmental productivity, quality, product lineups and performance.
Ensure employees’ safety by using methods of reinforcing positive safety actions and correcting and documenting all safety violations given from SAFE programs and policies.
Establish a positive working relationship with all employees in the department, keeping abreast of any upcoming or potential absenteeism, turnover or problems.
Ensure all scheduled jobs are filled at the beginning of each shift. Communicate daily with previous and upcoming shift supervisors and all others necessary to assure conformance to requirements.
Hold employee meetings to communicate and teach safety, policy, quality, and other information and requirements.
Maintain employee attendance calendar and complete Workforce time summaries daily.
Work to minimize the impact of any employee injury, having as first concern the well-being of the injured employee. Investigate, Report and document the accident, then implement corrective measures.
Maintain an enthusiastic department atmosphere instilling cooperation in others. This may require counseling and/or taking formal disciplinary action when expected improvements in employee’s behavior are not made.
Ensure employees are properly trained and equipped.
Monitor shift status and progress, taking necessary corrective actions and reporting any serious or out of control situations seen or anticipated to the Department Manager immediately.
Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
Treat all employees fairly, consistent with corporate policy and facility guidelines without regard to race, sex, age, religion, national origin or any disability.
Perform any other duties as specified by Management.
Use Data Analysis to evaluate shift performance.

Preferred Skills:
LTO certification
Previous Coater experience
1+ years of Lead experience in a manufacturing environment or 1+ years of Supervisor/Manager experience in any environment within the past 5 years.
