This role manages facilities & maintenance activities for Caterpillar’s Sanford, NC sites. This is a unique role that will require work hours that vary from a typical schedule. There will be times when the successful candidate will be required to support activities and installations during weekends, holidays, and plant shutdowns.

This role will often be required to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will bring with them excellent communication skills and a track record of strict adherence to project management disciplines to effectively manage project scope, timing, costs, and budget. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a history of progressive levels of leadership & project management.

Responsibilities

  • Aligns actions with enterprise values and purchasing practices
  • Supervises a team of Facilities and Maintenance professionals and manages team performance using key
  • metrics (KPI’s)
  • Works with third-party Maintenance provider to safely maximize asset utilization/uptime and achieve joint process
  • improvement goals
  • Works with third-party Maintenance provider to upskill team members where opportunities for improvement exist
  • Implements programs to ensure well managed & maintained buildings & facilities
  • Resolves routine Facilities and Maintenance issues; escalates non-routine issues up through organization
  • Identify, scope, quote, and execute facility improvement projects on time and on budget
  • Research alternative vendors or suppliers; leads process of supplier selection
  • Works collaboratively state & local government agencies to meet fire & building code requirements
  • Leads use of RCCA & A3 problem solving tools to mitigate risk of downtime and process failures
  • Oversees inspections, repairs, updates of facilities, and relevant operational assets/activities
  • Evaluates the operation's effectiveness with current utilities and equipment
  • Identifies, anticipates, and mitigates risks & challenges to the facility

Top candidates will also bring (desired qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or technical discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Prior experience in a Facilities or Maintenance leadership role at a manufacturing facility
  • Prior experience leading teams that maintain Mechanical & Electrical building systems
  • Prior experience managing third party service providers
  • Prior experience in a project management role
  • Prior experience maintaining & relocating robotic weld systems
  • Prior experience maintaining & refurbishing machine centers
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role
  • Prior experience leading deployment of site predictive maintenance programs
  • Third party project management certification
  • North Carolina General Contractor’s license

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
