Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Mechanic , you will be responsible for supporting production by maintaining equipment in the operating departments and the process support equipment for the plant.

 

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Self-motivated can follow directions, be able to work alone, and work in multiple team environments is mandatory.
  • Must be efficient with looking data up on computer files, internet websites, and logging data in mechanical computer software, repairs will need to be communicating using email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel files.
  • Must be able to perform all basic mechanical tasks. Tasks include but is not exclusive to installing rollers, belt tensioning, aligning small motors, changing bearings, use of all hand tools properly, knowing basic thread and bolt sizes, knowing how to select oils, experience with pneumatics, experiences with hydraulic circuits, learn vibration analysis, and be capable of creating and communicating ideas to make the equipment less prone to breakdown.
  • Need to know the difference between making a quality repair that will last versus making a temporary repair that will keep the production equipment running for a shorter period.
  • Required to perform machine changeovers on the production lines and to stay at the lines until good product is consistently coming off the lines.
  • Reports to operations and must follow the repair guidance when provided from the technical team.
  • The person in this role must realize that they will have many customers in the facility throughout the day and it is their goal to alleviate any mechanical problems when possible. This role must be able to work with all teams cohesively.
  • This position will be required to work overtime.

Requirements:

We need you to have:

  • 3-5 years of experience with troubleshooting mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Must have prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must understand and know how to use all plant and common maintenance safety practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong electromechanical skills.
  • Must exhibit a strong aptitude for the understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, bearing installations, gearboxes, belts tensioning & pulley selection, chains & sprockets, bolt sizes, proper use of all common hand tools motor alignments, oil analysis, vibration analysis,
  • Be able to demonstrate computer skills such as quick retrieval on maintenance manuals in stored files, email, ability to look up parts, use excel, within 45 days master the required modules of SAP and CMMS
  • Have strong communication skills and capability in teaching others
  • Be very organized and meticulous in performing mechanical work
  • Must have a proven track record of responding to equipment stoppages.
  • Must have skills required to operate shop equipment and powered vehicles.
  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to work holiday shut down and start up.
  • Able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to work a rotating 12 hour shift

Icing on the cake:

  • Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Associates degree or two year technical degree in a related field
