We’re looking for an experienced manufacturing leader who can oversee and drive the successful execution of our robot production builds. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment, and has a hands-on approach to problem-solving. 

About the Role

This role will oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, quality, maintenance, and workforce management. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure product quality, and foster a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring the smooth and on-time delivery of our robots from start to finish. 

We require 5 days/week onsite collaboration at our manufacturing facility in Glen Cove, NY.  We are unable to sponsor Visas at this time.

In this role, you will: 

  • Direct and coordinate all manufacturing activities, including production planning, workflow optimization, and resource allocation 

  • Lead, train and mentor the entire manufacturing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence while maximizing performance and productivity

  • Manage production schedules to meet delivery commitments and optimize plant utilization

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in production

  • Collaborate with engineering on new product introduction (NPI) and existing product revisions, translating design specifications into scalable production processes and implementing changes effectively on the manufacturing floor.

  • Collaborate with supply chain to manage demand forecasting inputs, material requirements planning (MRP), and inventory control, aligning procurement strategies with production capacity and build plans.

  • Collaborate with quality team to resolve production issues, uphold quality standards for complex robotic systems, address non-conformances swiftly, and refine manufacturing processes to prevent recurrence and enhance product reliability.

  • Monitor plant KPIs and metrics, analyzing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment

  • Manage manufacturing budgets and control operating costs

  • Find practical means to optimize production processes  

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Proven experience managing a manufacturing plant, preferably in robotics, automation, electronics, or advanced manufacturing

  • Experience with implementing and maintaining lean manufacturing principles and methodologies

  • Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and production planning tools

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to develop and mentor staff

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Exceptional communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams

  • Experience managing manufacturing budgets and controlling operating costs

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 

  • Ability to drive culture change on the shop floor, getting buy-in from operators to executives for new processes or policies

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred

  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3-5 years as a production manager  or operations manager

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 

The expected annual base compensation for this role is $115,000 - $150,000 USD, with adjustments potentially offered based on individual factors like job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. 

Base compensation is just one component of the total compensation package offered to Standard Bots employees.
