Job Title : Machine Operator (first shift)

The Machine Operator Level III will independently set up programs, loads, runs and inspect parts while monitoring and adjusting machine and tool conditions and maintaining tolerances to ensure quality.

This position is for second shift only. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Presets tools and performs machine set ups without assistance.
  • Changes cutting tools and adjusts machine controls as required.
  • Identifies CNC programs issues and make recommendations.
  • Calculates machine speed and feed ratios and the size and position of cuts.
  • Enters control instructions into machine control units to start operation.
  • Understands all aspect of deburring.
  • Maintains set up sheets per current process parameters including tooling.
  • Identifies and recommends process improvement that eliminates waste and reduces cycle time and part quality variation.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows all safety regulations.
  • Monitors machines during operation in order to detect dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.
  • Mentors and trains other machine operators as needed.
  • Measures dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments (ie calipers, micrometers, height gauge).
  • Performs other duties, as required.
